Croatian national team to play in Bjelovar

Zlatko Dalić’s Croatia team will play in the central Croatian town of Bjelovar for the first time next week.
Croatia will gather next weekend in Zagreb ahead of their UEFA Nations League clash with England but before they take on the Three Lions in a repeat of the World Cup semi-final in Russia, they will play NK Bjelovar in a match to mark the club’s 110th anniversary.
The match will take place on 9 October in Bjelovar, which is around 85 km from Zagreb, just three days before the clash with England in Rijeka.
According to reports, most of Croatia’s stars like Luka Modrić, Ivan Rakitić, Mateo Kovačić, Ivan Perišić and Ante Rebić will feature.
Two years ago Croatia played a similar match in Siget when they played HNK Segesta to celebrate that club’s 110th anniversary.
On that occasion, a mostly full-strength Croatia team won 8-1 with goals to Mario Mandžukić (2), Ivan Perišić (2), Andrej Kramarić, Marko Pjaca, Nikola Kalinić and Duje Čop.
The match in Bjelovar will kick-off at 4 pm on 9 October will live coverage on HNTV.
Tickets went on sale today for the match and are available at Bjelovar stadium and on Bjelovar Korzo.
