Croatian Olympians raise €16,500 for Zagreb quake relief

ZAGREB, April 16 (Hina) – The Croatian Olympians Club raised HRK 125,351 in the drive called “Together for Zagreb” aimed at collecting funds for the removal of consequences of the 22 March earthquake in Zagreb.
Former Croatian athletes, who competed in the Olympic games, made donations to help the capital city to overcome the consequences of the March 22 earthquake that struck the Croatian capital city and its environs. According to the city’s authorities, 7,000 buildings and about 30,000 family homes were damaged in that natural disaster.
Two strong earthquakes struck the Zagreb area on 22 March, one measuring 5.5. and the other 5.0 on the Richter scale. They were followed by over 90 minor tremors.
The Croatian Olympians Club was established on December 22, 1993, in Zagreb and it is a member of the Croatian Olympic Committee and the World Olympians Association (WOA).
