Croatian president arrives in Switzerland on official visit

Upon the invitation of the President of the Swiss Confederation Ueli Maurer, the President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović is on a two-day official visit to the Swiss Confederation.
The meeting between President Grabar-Kitarović and President Maurer commenced with a welcoming ceremony at the Lohn Manor, the official residence of the President of the Swiss Confederation in Bern, and was followed by a tête-á-tête of the two Presidents and a bilateral meeting of the delegations of the Republic of Croatia and the Swiss Confederation.
In addition to the already friendly relations and excellent bilateral cooperation, which will be further deepened within the European Economic Area and other international fora and organizations, the two countries enjoy very good cooperation in the field of science and education. The leaders expressed a strong conviction that cooperation in the area of culture will also reach the same level.
The President said that the Croatian community in Switzerland represents a strong link between the two peoples, countries and cultures, and that Croatia is grateful to Switzerland for its continuous support and assistance through humanitarian projects and donations for demining.
The two Presidents expressed support for strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest and for further developing economic cooperation in the pharmaceutical, precision engineering and electronics industries, but also in the organic food and food production industries and tourism. President Grabar-Kitarović thanked Swiss President Maurer for offering the transfer of valuable Swiss know-how in the field of entrepreneurial development and in specific tourist branches.
President Grabar-Kitarović said Croatia will continue to take measures to further improve the investment climate in order to become more attractive for foreign investors. She stressed the need to intensify cooperation between export and investment promotion institutions with a view to enhance economic partnerships between companies on both sides.
In the remainder of her official visit to the Swiss Confederation, the President of the Republic will hold a working meeting with the President of the National Council of the Swiss Confederation Marina Guscetti Corrobio.
