Two out of three kids in Croatia will open a Facebook profile before they turn 13, whilst 8% of kids aged between 11-18 have set up a meeting in person with someone they met through Facebook, according to a recent survey on social network behaviours amongst Croatian kids.
93% of the close to 1,500 kids aged between 11-18 who took part in the survey said that they already had their own profile on Facebook, while 4 out of 5 of them say that there are no rules put in place by their family regarding safety measures when using social media on-line. More than half of the kids said that they would check their Facebook during class time, whilst one in every five spends more than three hours a day on Facebook. Most of the kids surveyed said that they had between 300 and 500 ‘friends’ on Facebook, with 18% saying that they would consider meeting someone they met on Facebook.
