Croatian Student Dies on School Trip in Spain

Croatia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs have confirmed that a 17-year-old Croatian has died in an accident whilst on a school trip in Spain…

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that Tin Grgurić (born 1996) from Delnice has died whilst on a school trip in Lloret de Mar. Police are still carrying out investigations, but they say with some certainty that the death is not the result of any criminal act and the result of an accident,” a spokesperson from the Ministry said.

According to a report by Spanish police, the accident happened at around 17:40 on Thursday when Grgurić fell around 25 metres from a crane that he had climbed up onto. The reasons why he climbed up on the crane are not known. (pic: screenshot)
