Croatian students scoop three medals at Physics Olympiad in Iran

Croatian students at Physics Olympiad in Iran

ZAGREB, 31 July (Hina) – Croatian secondary school students won a silver medal and two bronze medals at the 54th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO 2024), which took place in Isfahan, Iran from 21 to 29 July.

All three medals were won by students from XV. Gimnazija Zagreb. The silver was captured by Val Karan and the bronzes were taken by Luka Duplančić and Franjo Krešimir Jalšovec.

Borna Jelečki from Ruđer Bošković Technical School Zagreb and Frane Anđelić from III. Gimnazija Split also took part. Anđelić received a commendation for his results.

About 200 students from 46 countries across the world participated in this prestigious international competition.

The five-member Croatian team was led by Damir Pajić and Pavla Šenjug from the University of Zagreb’s Faculty of Science.
