Croatia’s best female swimmer, Sanja Jovanovic, has won the silver medal in the 50m backstroke at the European Championships held in France.
Jovanovic, who swam the final in 26.84 seconds, was just .6 of a second behind the winner Laure Manaudou from France.
“First of all I am delighted to win a medal. Before the final I did not think about gold, my goal was to come close to the top 3 because all the girls are excellent. I was so happy when I saw I came second,” said Jovanovic after the race.
