Croatian teen Petra Marčinko wins her first professional singles tennis title

16-year-old Croatian Petra Marčinko has won her first professional singles tennis title on Sunday in Turkey.
Petra beat France’s Carole Monnet 6:4, 6:1 in the final of the ITF Turkey 09A in Antalya to claim her first professional title. The tournament was Petra’s first at the 25K level.
The talented Croatian was the world no.1 junior girls tennis player last year and won the 2022 Australian Open junior girls title.
The Zagreb teen had an impressive 2021 as a junior when she won the U18 singles and doubles title at the famous Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships in Florida.

Her victory in Turkey today means she jumps from 928th on the WTA list to 572nd, a new high in her short career, the Croatian Tennis Association said.
