Croatian tennis star Ivan Dodig, who has seven Grand Slam titles, an Olympic silver medal, and a Davis Cup victory under his belt, has ventured into the business realm with the construction of an impressive sports centre.
The Dodig Tennis Center (DTC) will soon be opening its doors in the heart of his hometown of Medjugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina, daily Jutarnji list reported.
The goal is ambitious: to establish it as the tennis hub of this part of Europe and a globally recognised destination for tennis lovers.
This revolutionary sports complex, spanning 25,000 m², offers a unique blend of top-notch tennis, luxurious experiences, and diverse amenities.
It aims to attract tennis enthusiasts and tourists from around the globe, spearheaded by the Dodig brothers – Željko, Mladen, and Ivan, the renowned Croatian tennis player.
The center will feature six modern tennis courts equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Five courts will have hard surfaces, including a Central Court, and one will have a clay surface.
Additionally, DTC will boast four padel courts enclosed with glass partitions and metal fences, resembling squash in gameplay.
“The main central court is designed to be the birthplace of new tennis legends. With a modern 1200 m² arena offering a spectacular view of the game from 2000 seats,” reads their website, which vividly illustrates the entire story with a plethora of interesting photographs.
Beyond the sports courts, there will be a restaurant promoting a healthy lifestyle, two bars, a fitness centre, saunas, a museum, a shop, and multiple lounge areas. What’s most intriguing is the building housing 27 spacious apartments, complemented by outdoor and indoor pools, a spa area, business spaces, and conference halls for guests.
The Dodig brothers’ visionary project, surrounded by forest, offers numerous recreational activities like walking paths, an outdoor gym, jogging trails, and mini-golf, alongside a children’s play area.
The grand project has been showcased on social media, drawing support from numerous renowned athletes with footballer Ivan Rakitić, Ivan Klasnić and Mladen Petrić chiming with positive comments.
