Croatian Tourism Team Drumming up Business in USA & Canada

Croatia’s Minister of Tourism Darko Lorencin and Tourism Board Director Ratomir Ivičić are in North America this week drumming up business…
Lorencin and Ivičić will spend this week in America and Canada, where they will take part in a number activities to promote Croatia as a destination. Today the pair will meet with American tour operators, journalists and influential bloggers over a dinner in New York, where they will present Croatia not only as a destination, but also a gastro destination. Croatian food and wine will be served to familiarise the guests tonight.
The Minister and Director will visit the Croatian wine fair in New York on Tuesday, which is organised by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, before heading off to Canada to attend SkyGreece Airlines’ official launch of their Toronto – Zagreb direct service which starts this summer. Whilst in Toronto the duo will also meet with local tour operators and travel agents to push Croatia as a destination to visit.
America is an important market for Croatia. With the number of Americans visiting rising 18% last year, there is a lot of room for improvement. According to data, Americans are amongst the biggest spending tourists in the world. There were 19% more Canadian tourists in Croatia last year.
