Croatian Tourist Dies In India

A 56-year Croatian tourist who was found semi conscious by train tracks with a severed leg in India earlier this month has died, reports DNA India.
Marcel Kopirivic, who told reports that he had been “holidaying” in India since 1995, had his leg amputated after police found him on the brink of consciousness with a badly damaged left leg and no documents near Roha – 100km south-east of Mumbai.Whilst in hospital Kopirivic had a fall from bed on February 14 and lost consciousness. He was moved to an intensive care unit where he died a few days later.
“Marcel breathed his last at close to 2 pm on February 20. We have sought the Croatian consulate’s permission to conduct post-mortem on the body,” said a police official from JJ Marg Police station.
