Croatian Wineries Manifest Superb Quality at TEXSOM Awards 2025
21 wines with medals – 15 of which are Silver and higher
Boston, Mass, March 27, 2025 – Croatian Premium Wine Imports, Inc., company importing, promoting, and retailing online over 100 indigenous Croatian wines to most US states, announced today that Croatian wineries received substantial number of awards at TEXSOM 2025, judging for which took place this February.
While only 13 Croatian wineries submitted wines, there were a total of 21 awards, from Best of Show to Bronze, showcasing continuous quality of Croatian winemaking in various categories, from white and red, to rosé and skin-contact or orange wine.
“Croatian wineries understand the importance of TEXSOM awards and it is encouraging to see that judges are also recognizing the quality of Croatian winemaking,” said Mirena Bagur, co-founder of Croatian Premium Wine Imports, Inc.
“We tirelessly spread knowledge about Croatian indigenous varieties, many of which were represented at TEXSOM and are encouraged to see that more and more Croatian wineries are being placed in American stores and restaurants. This is a direct result of not only wine quality, but also of the increased demand, as the American visitors frequently sign up for island-hopping wine cruises or land trips which we support and encourage.”

Celebrating 40 years since founding, TEXSOM Awards, enlisted the expertise and wisdom of 30 judges from around USA and a professional production team to ensure accuracy and care for every beverage entered for evaluation.
An invitation-only media team including professional photographers and videographers was tasked with collecting attendee impressions, observing judging panels for additional insights, and general coverage of all activities.
Over 70 production and media team members traveled from 17 US states to support the event and represented various trade segments. Of the entries judged, the judges awarded 1031 medals: 15 Judges’ Selection medals, 56 Platinum medals, 117 Gold medals, 439 Silver medals, and 404 Bronze medals.
TEXSOM Awards arranges award entries by category of beverage, place of origin, and type. Medals are awarded on a merit basis as Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Judges’ Selection – Best of Show.

Focus on Croatia’s Indigenous Wines
Six years ago, CPWI started by importing and promoting the wines from the Dubrovnik-Neretva county, including Zinfandel/ Tribidrag, Plavac Mali, and Pošip, and now represents over 45 wineries from all wine regions, including various parts of Dalmatia, including vineyards in Konavle, Pelješac, Dingač, Šibenik, and Brač with other autochthonous varieties, such as Grk, Malvasija Dubrovačka, Babić, Debit, and Vugava.
