Croatia’s biggest food donors presented with awards

ZAGREB, Nov 9 (Hina) – The companies that donated the largest amounts of food in 2019 are the Konzum food and retail chain, the Dukat dairy company and the Sana Delikatese food wholesaler, and for their socially responsible business, they have received the “Najdonator” (Best Donor) awards.
The award is presented by the Mreza Hrane (Food Network) platform and European Parliament member Biljana Borzan.
The total value of corporate food donations in 2019, not including VAT, was HRK 12.9 million, as against HRK 9.9 million in 2018, Borzan’s office said.
Konzum donated HRK 4.9 million worth of food in 2019, Dukat donated HRK 2.1 million and Sana Delikatese, the biggest donor in the category of small and medium businesses, donated HRK 43,855 worth of food or 0.64% of its annual revenue.
Mreza Hrane coordinator Zoran Grozdanov called on all donors to register with an IT system launched to facilitate food donation.
