Construction on the Croatian version of Italy’s Gardaland theme park in the northern Dalmatian town of Biograd na Moru is set to start next spring, with doors opening in 2015, writes website Tportal.
“At the stage we are in the phase of obtaining building permits. All projects are done, and were completed by one of the best designers in Europe specializing in amusement parks. Opening is planned for the spring of 2015,” says theme park investor Franjo Koletić.
The ‘Croatian Gardaland’, which will be the first theme park built-in Croatia, has been designed by Italian Amusement Design specialists Bausaa, who have worked on the design of theme parks in Russia, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Investors are hoping that the theme park, which will reportedly cost around 25 million euros, will attract more than 200,000 visitors a year.
The theme park will operate in a similar fashion to Gardaland and have the usual attractions such as roller coasters, carousels, water rides, lakes, and a stage for artistic performances. The park will have three sections – a children’s section, a family section and a section for teenagers with adrenalin rides – and also an electronic games and simulators hall. The last phase of construction will see a tunnel aquarium built, and also a ‘Red Carpet Museum’ with wax figures of famous people.
