Just five days after returning from Croatia’s worst performance at a World Handball Championships in over a decade, Croatia’s coach Slavko Goluža has resigned…
After finishing in 6th position in Qatar, the pressure had gone on the former player to step down. Goluža said when he arrived back to Croatia that a full analysis of the tournament would be done, but despite his report from the World Championships expected next week, on Friday he resigned.
“After nearly 5 years as the head of the Croatian handball team I have decided to resign from my position as coach. My decision was based on my thoughts about what went on at and around the World Championships in Qatar, and after talking with the federation. I done my job professionally, conscientiously and with dedication,” said Goluža, who went on to thank the fans, supporters, coaching staff and critics.
