The iconic Croatian praline Bajadera is now in liquid form thanks to a new collaboration with Badel 1862.

Badel 1862, Croatia’s leading producer of spirits and wines, has launched the country’s first domestic cream liqueur, Badel Bajadera, in collaboration with Kraš, the nation’s largest confectionery producer.

Bajadera, a classic nougat praline made with almonds, hazelnuts, or walnuts, has been a beloved treat since its debut in 1954.

Renowned for its iconic striped packaging and exquisite taste, it has become a symbol of Croatian culture, cherished both locally and internationally.

Now, this iconic flavour has been transformed into a premium liqueur, combining the expertise of Badel’s master distillers and Kraš’s confectionery heritage.

A Unique Creation

The Badel Bajadera liqueur features 70% cocoa powder, roasted hazelnuts, and almonds, delivering the unmistakable taste of the famous praline.

With a smooth, creamy texture and 16% alcohol content, this vegan liqueur is crafted using coconut milk, without artificial flavours or colours.

Its rich caramel notes make it versatile for enjoying on its own, over ice, in cocktails, or as a warm complement to coffee or hot chocolate. It also pairs beautifully with chocolate desserts and vanilla ice cream.

Launching in November, Badel Bajadera liqueur will be available in shops, bars, and cafes across Croatia, with a special presence at festive markets during the upcoming holiday season.

Its packaging mirrors the signature Bajadera praline design, making it an ideal gift for social visits and celebrations.

“Badel Bajadera liqueur is our response to the growing demand for innovative, premium products,” said Lovro Vučković, Marketing Director at Badel 1862.

“This collaboration showcases the strength of Croatian producers, combining tradition and innovation to offer consumers a new way to enjoy a familiar flavour. Whether at home or out with friends, this liqueur is perfect for any occasion, especially during the colder months ahead.”

The launch coincides with the 70th anniversary of Bajadera pralines, a product that has symbolised premium quality for generations.

“This partnership between two market leaders with over a century of experience highlights the power of innovation and mutual support,” said Marina Knežević, Marketing Director at Kraš. “Badel Bajadera liqueur combines the best of both brands and is sure to delight consumers who value quality and originality.”

The liqueur is made using a careful maceration process, where roasted hazelnuts and almonds are steeped to release their rich aromas.

The result is a creamy, aromatic liqueur that offers endless possibilities for indulgence. Whether served chilled, mixed into cocktails, or enjoyed warm, it promises to become a festive favourite.
