Croatian gymnast Tin Srbic has caused an upset on Sunday at the 47th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2017 being held in Montreal, Canada currently.

Srbic has beaten Olympic and double world champion Epke Zonderland, as well as European champion Pablo Braegger to win the gold medal in the Men’s Horizontal Bar final.

The 21-year-old from Zagreb, who was ranked third in qualifications, finished in the No.1 spot with 14,433 points, exactly 200 points more than second-placed Zonderland from Holland. Bart Deurloo finished third with 14,200 points.

“It was an unbelievable final gold, I still don’t know exactly what happened, I need to sleep on it before it will sink in,” Srbic said from Montreal after the win.

It is the best result in the history of Croatian gymnastics with Croatia’s only other medal ever at a world championship a bronze back in 2014 won by Marijo Možnik.
