Snow, ice, and freezing rains has caused havoc in some parts of Croatia this week, but the nation’s Met office warns that a return to the earlier spring-esque winter is around the corner…
With record warm temperatures in January, winter has been a rather unusual one in Croatia, however it showed its teeth over the past 10 days but it is expected to be short-lived. From Wednesday temperatures are again set to start climbing, reaching a warm 16°C in coastal parts of the country, and 13°C inland. Those living in Gorski Kotar will be welcoming the warmer weather as ice pellets and black rain created havoc on the roads, in forests, and on the power transmission grid, causing a number of power outages and closing roads.
