Fish and chips Dalmatian style…
The first fresh fish fast food outlet opened recently in Zadar on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast. CroSea is a fast-food options selling only fresh fish from the Adriatic. Situated on Obala Petra Krešimira IV (under Forum), CroSea sells sardines, anchovies or mackerel combined with chips, salsa and marinated vegetables.
CroSea fast food is a pilot project which will stay on the Riva for one month to see if there is enough interest to expand. Initiated by a local action fishery group, CroSea’s aim is not only increase consumption of small Adriatic pelagic fish, but to also see if it is a viable business venture which will spread up and down the coast.
With the fish providing a great source of Omega 3 and its freshness coming straight from the sea to the plate, the action group are confident it can succeed. The project also has the support of the Zadar City Council, Zadar Tourist Board, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the Zadar Hotel and Hospitality School.
CroSea is open from 11 am to 11 pm.
