Two Croatian towns are among 19 European towns vying for the prestigious horticultural 2014 Entente Florale – Golden Flower – Award…
The Entente Florale is an international horticultural competition established to recognise municipalities and villages in Europe for excellence in horticultural displays. The eastern Croatian town of Đakovo was short-listed from 1,700 European towns from 12 countries for the award in the Towns/Cities – population 15,000 and upwards category, whilst the town of Nin, located on Croatia’s coast in the Zadar county, has been nominated in the category for Towns/Cities with a population under 3,000.
The international Entente Florale jury, consisting of 11 members, will be in Ðakovo from 26-27 June to assess everything from the town’s horticultural displays, to landscaping, tidiness of its parks, city and efforts being made in the city to improve quality of life. Each city will be assessed in ten categories using a 1-100 points system.
