Panathinaikos defender Danijel Pranjić will join up with the Croatia squad on Monday as they prepare to take on Iceland in Reykjavik on Friday in their World Cup playoff.
Niko Kovač has recalled his former team-mate for the clash after regular left back Ivan Strinić was ruled out on Sunday with an injury. Pranjić last wore the red and white checkers of Croatia in August 2012 in a friendly against Switzerland, before falling out of favour with former coach Igor Štimac. Pranjić has represented Croatia 46 times. Kovač held his first training run as coach on Sunday night ahead of Friday night’s clash in Iceland.
