UEFA have selected former Seviila striker Davor Šuker to be its ambassador at this Thursday’s Sevilla v Betis in the last 16 of the Europa League…
The Croatian World Cup Golden Boot winner in 1998 will return to the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium for the local town derby. Šuker spent 6 years at Sevilla from 191 to 1996, including a season playing alongside Diego Maradona, and become one of the club’s all-time great strikers.
The current Croatian FA President will use the opportunity to reacquaint himself with old friends and fans at the club during tomorrow’s fixture. No doubt Šuker will catch up with Sevilla’s current captain, Croatia midfielder Ivan Rakitić.
