9 September 2020 – Despite back-to-back losses, Croatia defender Dejan Lovren believes the team will show its true colours again soon.
Croatia lost their opening two UEFA Nations League matches against Portugal (4-1) and France (4-2) but the Zenit Saint Petersburg player says things will be put right soon.
“It is difficult to write something clever in not so great moments, this will pass, we will come out even stronger because I believe in this team. We showed more than we did against Portugal, but again not enough to win.
We will accept criticism, but dear media, there is no need to add fuel to the fire. One day we are your heroes while the next day you pee on us. We are human, and that means we all make mistakes sometimes.
Guys, we are going through this short storm together, let’s not look back, let’s look forward with our heads held high, because in the end, everything will be as it should be.
Croatia above all,” Lovren wrote on social media.
Croatia’s next two matches in the Nations League will be in Zagreb in October against Sweden and France.
