Dinamo Zagreb have been crowned Croatian football champions for the eighth year in a row on Sunday after Slaven Belupo drew with rivals Hajduk Split 1-1 to continue their dominance in Croatian domestic football.
Dinamo have sown up the league in the 28th round of the Croatian National League (HNL), five rounds before the end of the championship.
“We are all very happy, this was our main goal, because without winning the league we would not have the chance to play in Europe and we are proud to be champions. I want to congratulate all the players and also Mr.Cacic who took the side in the first half of the season,” said coach Krunoslav Jurcic on the club’s official website.
In 28 rounds Dinamo had four losses, four draws and 20 wins with a goal-difference of 60 for and 18 against.
