Croatian football clubs Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split have advanced in European competitions whilst NK Osijek ended their European adventure.
On Thursday night Hajduk Split beat Slavia Sofia 3-2 in Bulgaria to win 4-2 on aggregate in their Europa League 2nd qualifying round tie. Goals to Stanko Jurić and a brace from Mijo Caktaš was enough to send Hajduk into the 3rd Round of qualifying.
Hajduk will face Steaua from Romania in the 3rd qualifying round. The first leg will be played on 9 August with the return leg a week later on 16 August.
NK Osijek’s Europa League qualifying campaign ended on Thursday night in Scotland at the hands of Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers. After a 1-0 away win in Osijek, the two sides drew 1-1 at Ibrox meaning Glasgow Rangers advanced 2-1 on aggregate.
Meanwhile, a 2-2 draw on Tuesday night against Israeli club Hapoel Beer Sheva was enough to send Dinamo Zagreb into the 3rd qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
A 5:0 victory in Zagreb made the task easy for the Croatian champions in the away leg.
Dinamo Zagreb will meet Kazakstan champions Astana in the next round.
