Dinamo Zagreb coach Krunoslav Jurcic has been sacked just hours after his side suffered a 0:2 defeat at the hands of Austria Vienna in the 1st leg of the UEFA Champions League in Zagreb last night.
Bizarrely, it is not the first time the former Dinamo Zagreb and Croatia international has been given his marching orders. Jurcic has now been sacked three times by the club. Dinamo Zagreb chairman Zdravko Mamic explained his reasons for the sacking.
“Kruno did not change the way he communicates with people from the club and that is why he got sacked,” said Mamic, who also was optimistic that Dinamo would still qualify for the Champions League despite last night’s loss.
“I guarantee we will win in Vienna. I am not sure if we will qualify but we will win the match. To do that we need a shock, and that is why the coach needed to be changed,” Mamic said.
Mamic’s brother Zoran, the club’s sports director, will take over with Damir Krznar in the interim.
