New direct flight between Poland and Split launched

A new direct flight service from LOT connecting the the Polish city of Warsaw with Split in Croatia has been established.
Representatives from the Croatian National Tourist Board and the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board welcomed key figures from Poland’s tourism industry, including LOT Polish Airlines, tour operators, agents, and travel media.
The purpose was to promote the new flight route from Warsaw to Split and to showcase the tourist attractions of Split-Dalmatia County, the Croatian National Tourist Board (CNTB) said in a statement in Friday.
Kristjan Staničić, director of CNTB, and Ivana Vladović, director of TB Split-Dalmatia County, gave welcoming speeches. They emphasized Croatia’s popularity among Polish tourists and the importance of enhancing air connectivity to Croatian destinations.
The Polish airline LOT plays a crucial role in this partnership, continuously expanding its flight network to Croatian airports. Staničić highlighted that Poles are drawn to Croatia’s beautiful coast, nature, gastronomy, and cultural heritage.
As part of the event, Polish tourism industry representatives were treated to a special program in Split-Dalmatia County. Małgorzata Kowalska, CNTB’s director in Poland, accompanied them during visits to Split and Trogir.
Vladović expressed gratitude for LOT’s recognition of Split and Dalmatia as favored destinations for Polish travelers. She emphasized the importance of the Polish market, which contributes significantly to the region’s tourism.
Poland ranks among the top five foreign markets for Croatian tourism. LOT’s presence in Croatian airports, particularly Zagreb, Split, and Dubrovnik, reflects the strong ties between the two countries.
Michał Fijoł from LOT reiterated the airline’s commitment to Croatia, noting the substantial number of passengers they’ve transported to the country over the years. He anticipated further growth in passenger numbers.
During the gathering at Split Airport, attendees discussed tourism trends, expectations, and LOT’s flight plans for Croatian destinations in 2024.
Last year, Croatia welcomed over one million Polish arrivals, resulting in 6.7 million overnight stays, marking a continued growth trend from 2022. The current year has seen a 36% increase in Polish arrivals and a 28% increase in overnight stays compared to the same period last year.
