17-year-old Croatian tennis star Donna Vekić has won her first WTA title after she beat top-seed and World number 10 Dominika Cibulkova from Slovakia in the final of the Malaysian Open on Sunday…
Vekić, who was playing in her 3rd WTA final, was too good for her more experienced opponent, winning in two-hours and 55 minutes – 5-7, 7-5, 7-6. Vekić’s victory on Easter Sunday was the first WTA title won by a Croatian since Iva Majoli in 2002.
