Drunk Driver Sent to Pick up Belgium Team From Airport

The Belgium football team arrived at Zagreb international airport on Wednesday night, but were left waiting whilst a replacement driver had to be found for the team coach, after the original driver was nicked by the cops for drink-driving on his way out to the airport, reports Belgium’s hln.be.
The driver charged with picking up the Belgium team from the airport last night and taking them to their team hotel was reportedly involved in an accident on his way out to the airport. The Belgium news site reports that the driver had hit another vehicle and taken off from the scene. Police later caught up with the man, who then proceeded to fail a breath test. The Belgium squad were left waiting around 15 minutes whilst a new driver was organised. Belgium take on Croatia at Zagreb’s Maksimir Stadium in a World Cup qualifier on Friday (18:00).
