Big 7 Travel points out that for 2024, seven distinctive trends are set to shape the travel landscape:
Set-jetting: A rising fascination with locations featured in movies and TV shows. Booze-free Breaks: Embracing wellness and tranquility in alcohol-free getaways. Destination Dupes: Seeking alternative destinations with similar charm to popular hotspots. Farmhouses and Barn Stays: A return to nature with cozy retreats in rural settings. Unique City Breaks: Exploring unconventional urban destinations. Group Tours: Embarking on adventures with like-minded travel companions and Prioritizing New Experiences & Exploring the Unknown: A quest for uncharted territories and unique encounters.
Among the highlighted destinations, the Croatian city of Dubrovnik was ranked number one Unique City Break in 2024.
“Best time to visit Dubrovnik: April to mid-June and September to October are the best times to visit Dubrovnik for a mix of exploring the city and taking dips in the Adriatic Sea. Dubrovnik is one of the most beautiful and underrated city breaks in Europe. Croatia is touted as a fully-fledged holiday destination, meaning this medieval city is overlooked as a short break. When you simply need to get away, even if just for the weekend, Dubrovnik is the perfect place. Walking the city walls is a must, go for a dip in Kolorina Bay, take a boat trip to Lokrum Island, and simply soak up the buzzy atmosphere in the Old Town. Clinging onto limestone cliffs, this walkable, beautiful city is a joy to explore,” writes Big 7 Travel.
