Duran Duran are returning to Croatia for a premiere performance at the Pula Arena on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.
The band is returning to Croatia seven years after a sold-out concert at the Šalata Stadium in Zagreb.
The new performance in Croatia is scheduled at perhaps the most beautiful concert venue this part of Europe has to offer.
The two-thousand-year-old amphitheater in Pula will be the perfect stage for Duran Duran to remind us of their timeless collection of hits and a chance to hear their new album “Danse Macabre.”
The band’s latest release features darker melodies, new songs, covers, and special versions of their classics.
Alongside singles like “Black Moonlight” and the title track “Danse Macabre,” there are covers of Billie Eilish, The Rolling Stones, Siouxsie and the Banshees, collaborations with Victoria De Angelis from Måneskin, Nile Rogers, and former band members.
The Independent calls it a real treat, while The Telegraph writes that it’s “a lot of fun.”
With a career spanning over four decades, 16 studio albums, and over 100 million records sold worldwide, along with awards such as Lifetime Achievement, two Grammys, BRIT Awards for outstanding contribution to music, a place in the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Duran Duran have become one of the most recognizable bands of our time.
Topping the charts with UK singles, the band led the British invasion of the American market with 21 singles reaching the top 10 of the Billboard charts, and their “A View To A Kill” is the only James Bond theme song to hit number one on the US charts.
From their eponymous debut album “Duran Duran” to successors like “Rio,” “Seven And The Ragged Tiger,” “Notorious,” “Big Thing,” or even “Thank You,” “Red Carpet Massacre,” and “Paper Gods,” they have gifted us with a string of incredible hits.
Connecting generations of fans and hordes of enthusiasts, Duran Duran fills the largest stadiums while their songs remain a staple on radio playlists. Led by the charismatic Simon Le Bon, as musical and fashion icons, they have influenced generations of musicians and pop culture.
They remain one of the most covered bands, with versions ranging from Franz Ferdinand, Korn, and Deftones to Courtney Love or samples from The Notorious B.I.G.
More than four decades since their initial appearance on the music scene, Duran Duran is still going strong. Pula will hear timeless megahits like “Hungry Like A Wolf,” “Rio,” “Wild Boys,” “Come Undone,” “Ordinary World,” “Union Of The Snake,” “The Reflex,” “A View To A Kill,” “Girls On Film,” “Save A Prayer,” or “Notorious.”
The performance at the Pula Arena will be the culmination of an exceptionally active concert period for Duran Duran, including sold-out shows in arenas across the UK, Ireland, Canada, and North America, such as Madison Square Garden in New York.
