Dutch Consul Stabbed in the Head in Split

Police are on the hunt for a 48-year-old man after the Honorary Consul of the Netherlands in Split, Croatia was stabbed in the head with a knife, reports daily Slobodna Dalmacija. Consulate Silvana Kondić (72) was in her office on the 12th floor, located in the same premise as the Netherlands Embassy in Split, when the incident happened on Wednesday at around 11:55am. Kondić has been rushed to a Split hospital where her condition was reported as not life threatening.
***UPDATE*** – Police in Split arrested a 48-year-old man in relation to the attack early on Wednesay afternoon. The man reportedly entered the office of Kondić at around 11:55 and after a short while began to attack the Dutch Consul, stabbing her in the head and neck before fleeing and leaving the knife at the scene. He was arrested in his flat in Split. Kondić is in a stable condition in a Split hospital.
