The Easter Weekend is traditionally the first test and indicator for how the season will go for those working in the tourism industry in Croatia, and there is reason for those workers to be optimistic after a busy weekend on the Adriatic coast…
According to media reports, this Easter has been busier than last year, with around 10,000 more tourists coming into Croatia at the Rupa and Pasjak border crossing than during the same period in 2013. Kvarner has again led the way, with close to 13,000 tourists arriving with many heading to the town of Opatija. Tourists arriving on Easter weekend traditionally stay for 7 days and 78 hotels have opened this weekend in the area. Most tourists this Easter had arrived from Slovenia, Germany, Italy, Austria, France and the UK.
