Enjoy Croatian culture at the traditional ‘Tamburica & Mandolina’ night

20th traditional 'Tamburica & Mandolin' to be held in Kaštel Lukšić

Folklore ensemble KUD 7 Kaštela, who has been dancing and singing for over four decades, will hold the ‘Tamburica & Mandolina’ event for the 22nd time this weekend.

The 22nd traditional ‘Tamburica & Mandolina’ folklore night will take place on Saturday, 19 August at Brce in Kaštel Stari starting at 20:30.

“With our guests and us, feel the melodies of the Slavonian tamburica, experience the steps, melody and songs of Dalmatia, and thus spend a pleasant summer evening,” the group said.

Performing groups on the night include:

KUD “Šumari” – Vinkovci
KUD “Putalj” – Kaštel Sućurac
KUD “Salona”- Solin
KUU “Andrija Matijaš Pauk” – Marina
KUD “7 Kaštela” – Kaštel Gomilica
Klapa “Sv. Jeronim” – Kaštel Gomilica
HGD “Zrinski” -Donja Kaštela
ŽVS “Kaštelanke” – Kaštel Sućurac

KUD 7 Kaštela was formed in 1980 and is the oldest folklore society in Kaštela.

“We proudly carry the name from our town ‘7 Kaštela’. All these years, the ensemble has worked uninterrupted and we can proudly say that hundreds of dancers and singers have been through the society, some of which are still very active today.”

Through their programme, KUD 7 Kaštela performs original and choreographed dance customs of Croatia, including old dances from Kaštela, Trogir, Split, Korčula, Dubrovnik (Linđo), Vrlika, Posavina and Ražanac.
