EuroBasket 2017: Croatia Beat Romania

The Croatian basketball team has made it two wins from two matches at EuroBasket 2017 after beating co-hosts Romania on Saturday.
Croatia, who beat Hungary in their opening match of the tournament on Friday, had too much class in the end for Romania, running away with the win 74-58.
Romania, with had the large crowd behind them, got off to a strong start, opening the game with back-to-back three-pointers. Croatia, however, edged in front 17-15 before going on a run of 28 points to just 2 conceded on the back of good work from Bojan Bogdanovic, who finished with 21 points.
Romania fought back in the third quarter, clawing back the deficit to 7 points at one stage, but Croatia then turned it up a gear again to go into the final quarter 15 points up and with the match in the bag.
Kruno Simon, who led assists, Dario Sarić, who led rebounds, Marko Popovic, and Dragan Bender were also impressive and among the point scorers on the night as Croatia remained unbeaten after two matches.
Croatia meets Montenegro next up on Monday, before playing Spain and the Czech Republic to round out group play.
