European Coastal Airlines (ECA), who are finally set to launch their first seaplane flights on Croatia’s Adriatic coast later this month, have just become one of Hajduk Split’s major sponsors…
European Coastal Airlines CEO Klaus-Dieter Martin and Hajduk Split President Marin Brbić have signed a 2-year deal which will see ECA inject over 3 million kunas (400,000 euros) into the club.
“This is one of our biggest sponsors. We do not usually discuss numbers, but today we will reveal that the deal is worth more than 3 million kuna (400,000 euros), It goes without saying what this money means to the club in a time of crisis” said a delighted Brbić on Tuesday, adding that the deal was negotiated over the last 12 months.
“Hajduk Split is not just a football club for me, it is an institution, some call it a religion, and I completely agree with that. Hajduk is the strongest football brand, not just in Croatia, but also in this part of Europe and I love to compare them with Bayern (Munich) because I come from Germany and it is the closest association,” said ECA CEO Martin.
ECA are expected to commence seaplane flights from Resnik in Split to Jelsa on the island of Hvar, the island of Rab and also Pula later this month, before expanding in Croatia and also Italy.
