Europeans Spend €665 Million Using Visa Cards in Croatia – Who Tops the List?

Europeans who were in Croatia from April to September this year have spent 665 million euros using Visa cards, which is 17 percent more than the same period last year…
The biggest spenders using Visa cards were the Germans, spending 116 million euros, up a massive 45 percent from the same period last year, according to a report released today from Visa’s Croatian office. In second place on the list were the British, spending around 85 million euros using their Visa cards in Croatia from April to September. The Norwegians were next (65 million euros), followed by the French (52 million euros) and the Italians (48 million euros). Nearly every nation, including the Swedes, Austrians, Poles and Slovakians, recorded more spending in 2013 compared to last year.
According to the reports, accommodation, fuel, and entertainment were the largest costs swiped onto the Visa card. This year there was 34% more spending in restaurants, 36% more in the bars, 21% more at the gas stations and 33.3% more at supermarkets using Visa cards. Payment for fast-food however, saw the largest growth in 2013 – a whopping 95%.
