Hajduk Split’s Croatian U-21 international Nikola Vlašić is set to sign for English Premier League club Everton F.C. for a Hajduk club record fee.

Vlašić has been a target of the Merseyside club ever since the two sides met in the UEFA Europa League playoff earlier this month.

The midfielder is set to sign for the Toffees for a fee of around £8m, according to Sky sources.

On Tuesday Vlašić left the Croatia U-21 squad in Zagreb as they prepared for an upcoming international to head to Split.

“Confirmation of whether Everton agrees to Hajduk’s terms should come through by the end of the day. The player would then head off for a medical and work out necessary permits,” 24sata reports.

The 19-year-old, who has scored 10 goals in 85 appearances for Hajduk Split, impressed Everton coach Ronald Koeman in both legs of the side’s playoff tie.

If the transfer is realized then Vlašić will break a club record for the biggest transfer fee. Currently, that record is held by AC Milan striker Nikola Kalinić who was signed from Hajduk by Blackburn for 7.5 million euros.
