The global economic recession has forced business owners to think outside the square, and for one hair salon in the Croatian capital Zagreb, a novel approach has paid dividends.
Outlet Hair Salon, located in the suburb of Travno in Zagreb, have not had to spend too much money on their price list – because everything in the salon costs just 25 kuna (3.20 EUR) – From colours and perms to men having their beards trimmed. The one price fits all concept is a new one in Croatia, and the salon manager Martina Tuškan says that it has worked, with clients on the weekend knowing to wait up to an hour and a half before being looked after and nobody is complaining.
“We now have just employed our 4th hairdresser, and we are getting busier and busier each month by 10%. Clients come from all over the city,” Tuškan told daily Vecernji list, adding that the salon has spent no money on advertising as all has come through word of mouth. “We want all the prices to be the same so all services are 25 kuna. Cost the same for a colour or to trim your bed.”
