Exhibition of Renaissance great Raphael opens in Zagreb

ZAGREB, 25 April 2021 (Hina) – The exhibition titled “Raphael – at the origin of the myth” was formally opened on Saturday in the Zagreb-based Museum of Arts and Crafts (MUO).
The exhibition offers a unique insight in the heritage of one of the greatest artists of the Renaissance – Raffaello Sanzio of Urbino (1483 – 1520), and is staged to commemorate five centuries since the death of this Italian painter and architect of the High Renaissance.
The exhibition presents about 110 original prints, drawings and faience by many important authors from the 16th to the 18th century inspired by the masterpieces of this great Renaissance artist.
Italian Ambassador Pierfrancesco Sacco said he was very glad to attend the opening of such an exhibition dedicated to Raphael.
This event has been prepared in cooperation with the Museum of the City of Brescia and the Italian Institute of Culture in Zagreb.
The exhibition runs through 6 June.
