Croatian island named 3rd most underrated in Europe

2 April 2024 – Global travel site Big 7 Travel has officially released The 20 Most Underrated Islands in Europe for 2024.

Making the list was one Croatian island. Coming in at a high third place was Lastovo. 

Lastovo, which is located on the southern Dalmatian coast and has a population of only a few hundred, does not get the same limelight as more popular islands like Hvar, Korčula, Brač or Pag. 

Steeped in history, Lastovo has an abundance of natural beauty, including a diverse range of flora and fauna, to attract tourist.Its archipelago was declared as a nature park in 2006.

The islands were ranked according to the following criteria; hidden gems not overrun by crowds, local charm, natural beauty, cultural significance, accessibility, activities and attractions and local community.
