After HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’, Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Fan’ and a host of other renowned film and TV projects, Croatia’s filming tax incentive scheme has attracted another big international production to Croatia, reports daily Jutarnji list...
Famous French director and producer Luc Besson (‘The Big Blue’, ‘Leon, the Professional’, ‘The Fifth Element’), is bringing the production of action thriller ‘Lake’ to Croatia this summer. Some of the planned locations are Zagreb, Istria, the island of Krk and Ogulin.
Aussie star Sullivan Stapleton (‘300: Rise Of An Empire’) will appear in the main role, while one of the supporting roles will be played by recent Oscar-winning actor J. K. Simmons (‘Whiplash’).
The film follows a group of Navy SEALs who attempt to solve an age-old mystery involving a treasure underneath a lake in war-torn Serbia.
The project is being produced by Besson, Christophe Lambert and Lisa Elzey trough the EuropaCorp company, renowned for developing and producing the blockbuster franchises, the Taken trilogy and the Transporter series.
‘The Lake’ is written by Besson and Richard Wenk and directed by Steven Quale (‘Into the Storm’). Planned release date is July 2016.
