Strong southerly winds have caused a passenger ferry to crash into the small Croatian island of Silba ..
The ‘Hanibal Lucić‘ ferry was taking 23 passengers on a routine trip to the northern Dalmatian island last night when strong winds created all sorts of problems as it attempted to dock in. With the captain losing control the large ferry crashed into the island. There were no injuries to the passengers on board, but the ferry could not continue with its journey and had to be taken back to Zadar to get repaired. A replacement ferry has been sent to the island.
