Festival Celebrating What Croatian Ancestors Ate

The 33rd edition of the traditional festival “What our old folks were eating”, or “Kaj su jeli naši stari”, is set to get underway on Friday in Vrbovec, north-east of the Croatian capital Zagreb.
The gastro festival, organised by the Vrbovec Tourist Board, will feature a host of traditional dishes prepared using the original recipes used by generations going back centuries in the region. It will not just be traditional recipes from the Vrbovec region on display, but also traditional dishes from all over Croatia. Along with food, their will be entertainment in the form of nightly concerts, and also a sports programme. The festival runs from 23-25 August.
