STRUER, 26 September 2020 – Croatian heavyweight boxer Filip Hrgović has continued his 100% win record after knocking out Greek boxer Alexandre Kartozia at the Struer Energi Park in Denmark tonight.
Kartozia, who replaced Ondrej Pala at short notice, was no match for the Croatian Olympic bronze medalist who now has 11 professional wins from 11 fights.
The knockout, which came in the second round via a powerful right hand was Hrgović’s 9th and the win sees him defend his WBC International title once again.
Hrgović said before the fight that he was excited to step back into the ring as he looks to continue his journey to the top with an active end to the year.
“I’ll fight again in the United States so I already have two fights scheduled in two months. If everything goes well there, then I hope to fight again at the end of 2020,” Hrgović said.
Kartozia was fighting for the second time this year having secured a third-round knockout victory over Mexico’s Manuel Duran back in January, whilst the 28-year-old Croatian last fought back in December.
