Filip Hrgović to fight Zhang Zhilei in IBF eliminator on Usyk-Joshua card

ZAGREB, 27 July 2022 – Croatia’s Filip Hrgović will fight China’s Zhang Zhilei in the IBF final eliminator in August.
Hrgović and Zhilei will be on the Usyk v Joshua 2 card on Saturday, August 20 at The Jewel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, his management confirmed.
The winner of the fight will become the IBF’s mandatory challenger for its unbeaten heavyweight champion.
The Croatian was set to fight Zhilei back in May on the Canelo Alvarez versus Dmitry Bivol card in Las Vegas but withdraw after his father passed away.

Hrgović is 14-0 with 12 KOs, whilst the 38-year-old Zhilei has 23 victories in his career, including 18 KOs.
As an amateur he won bronze medals at the 2007 and 2009 World Championships, and a silver medal at the 2008 Olympics, all in the super-heavyweight division.
