The trailer for The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, which was filmed in Croatia in 2019 and stars Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek and Ryan Reynolds, has been released.
The film was shot, among other locations, in Rijeka, Rovinj and Zagreb and is another great advertisement for Croatian tourism.
“If you’re gonna be repeatedly punched in the face anywhere…I recommend Croatia. I love this place,” Reynolds wrote during filming on Instagram.
Jackson was equally impressed: “This new location looks promising! Croatia is lovely at first glance,” he wrote on social media when he first arrived in Rovinj.
Over 220 Croatian film professionals worked in production, and more than 760 extras were engaged. Croatia plays the roles of Italy and Croatia itself in the film.
The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard is the sequel to the 2017 film The Hitman’s Bodyguard.
Apart from Reynolds, Jackson and Hayek, the film also stars Morgan Freeman, Antonio Banderas, Tom Hopper, Frank Grillo and Richard E. Grant.
The trailer was released yesterday and has almost 2 million views so far.
The movie is set to be released on June 16 after it was pushed back from August 2020 because of the pandemic.
