First baby in Vukovar in 2021 born today

VUKOVAR, 7 January 2021 – The first baby in 2021 in the Croatian city of Vukovar was born at the National Memorial Hospital in Vukovar today.
After an eager wait since the start of the year, which was a little longer this year, Ivana Čavar Volarević gave birth to little Elon in the morning hours of January 7, 2021.
The Mayor of the City of Vukovar, Ivan Penava, presented the happy parents with a special gift and a gift voucher worth HRK 1,500.
“I congratulate the happy parents and wish them a lot of love and happiness. I believe that the birth of a child brought them a wonderful beginning to 2021”, said the mayor and added that the City of Vukovar traditionally presents the first child born with residence in the Vukovar area.
According to the maternity ward of the National Memorial Hospital Vukovar, in 2020 there were 390 births in Vukovar, similar to the previous 3 years.
