Langos bar has just opened its doors in the city of Rijeka, becoming the first bar in Croatia offering only langos.
What are langos?
Langos is a traditional Hungarian deep-fried flatbread that is typically made with a simple dough of flour, yeast, salt, and water. The dough is rolled out into a round shape, then fried in oil until it becomes golden and crispy.
Langos can be served in a variety of ways, with toppings such as sour cream, grated cheese, garlic, or even sweet toppings like jam or Nutella. Langos gained popularity in Croatia, particularly in the Međimurje area, where they are called langoš, but can also be found in other parts of the country.
The newly-opened Langos bar in Rijeka, situated at Krešimirova 6A, is a small family-run street food restaurant that offers only langos. They make various types, and apart from ordering and eating on the spot, they can also be ordered through the Glovo application and delivered in the area.
Prices range from 2.50 euros for plain to 4 euros with fillings.
At Langos bar, you can order red langos with cream, chili, kulen, feta cheese and onion, then green langos with pesto genevese, arugula, mozzarella and balsamic vinegar, and stuffed langous with ham and cheese. All of them will cost you 4 euros, while the white langos with cream, garlic, cheese and chives and the sweet one with chocolate, vanilla, forest fruit topping or Nutella with walnuts or coconut will cost you 3 euros, Dobra hrana writes.
