First Chocolate Lab Opens in Croatia

Croatia’s first chocolate laboratory has opened in the northern Adriatic town of Opatija on Monday.
The chocolate lab is based on the same model as chocolate academies which are located around the world. For now the Opatija lab will only be used by Dessert Catering students, with the aim that the lab becomes the regional chocolate centre. The first Croatian chocolate lab will give students the chance to learn their trade and become more competitive in the workforce.
“We should not forget that we are now one of the EU member states where the doors of chocolate labs, hotels, restaurants, not only in Croatia, but throughout Europe are open to our students,” explained the Director of the Catering School Damjan Miletic.
